Renee DiNino of WFSB to Host Emerald Evening

Renee DiNino, one of Connecticut’s most popular media personalities and the host of WFSB Channel 3’s Hello Connecticut, will return as Special Guest Master of Ceremonies for House of Heroes Connecticut’s (HOHCT) Annual Fundraising Gala, “An Emerald Evening: Celebrating 10 Years of Hearts and Heroes” on Saturday, March 14, at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.


More than 200 guests are expected to attend the mega-event, which kicks off the Veterans Service

Organization’s 2026 Year of Service. The first Veteran service projects of the year for HOHCT, which has

provided one-day, no-cost home repairs to nearly 300 military and public safety Veterans and their

surviving spouses since being founded in 2012, are tentatively slated for Saturday, March 28, in Plainville

and East Haven pending cooperation from the weather gods.


“An Emerald Evening” will also feature presentation of the organization’s William J. May III Service

Above Self Awards for Volunteer, Craftsman and Sponsor of the Year. Honorees for the 2025 Year of

Service are Jesse Timm of Meriden (Volunteer), Dave Cote of Bethany and Kevin Cote of North Haven

(Craftsmen) and CrossFit of Wallingford (Sponsor).


WFSB Channel 3 is also serving as Official Media Sponsor of the event.

DiNino, a long-time Veterans advocate and friend of House of Heroes, is Director of Community Affairs

for WFSB Channel 3 and is the host of Hello Connecticut with Renee DiNino, Amazing K9 Duos, Lost &

Pound and is a contributor to the station’s Great Day at 9A and Great Day Connecticut. She has served

as Special Guest Emcee of this event on multiple occasions.


Hello Connecticut affords DiNino the opportunity to showcase her specialty, giving voice to the

voiceless, non-profits doing great work across the state and community-minded individuals and groups

making a difference. The show airs weekly Sundays at 11:30 a.m. on WFSB, with new live-streaming

episodes also available weekly on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. on WFSB+ (Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV). The

show is available on WFSB satellite station The WAX Sundays at 6:30 p.m. (check your local cable lineup)

and is also available via the Hello Connecticut podcast wherever you listen to your podcasts.


Tickets, tables, sponsorships and advertising opportunities remain available for the event, which will

feature dinner, dancing, musical entertainment by Mass-Conn Fusion, gaming tables, open bar, a
