A front and backyard mission meant to make a difference.

PROSPECT, Conn — The Team from “House of Heroes” put its mission in motion in Prospect.

At the home, retired Private First Class William Mason, a Marine veteran who served in Vietnam and lost his arm from his combat service, House of Heroes was busy landscaping, staining, and power washing the property.

Mason, who is 75 and a Purple Heart recipient said, “To think that 3 months ago I was looking around thinking how am I going to do all this?” He then added, “This is amazing.”

Carol May, the executive director of House of Heroes, based in Hamden said, “We are helping out a Vietnam veteran who lost his arm in combat in the jungle, and he has had a lot of difficulty in the past few years getting done in his house.

We changed all the locks in his home, we power washed his deck, we are staining his deck, and we are doing landscaping all around his house.”
