Dozens of Vets to be Served in 2025 Thanks to Support of Four New Partners:

AMVETS Post 18, Cirtec Medical, New England Financial Group and Ring’s End

Wallingford, March 27, 2025 – House of Heroes Connecticut (HOHCT), the Hamden-based Veterans

Service Organization that has transformed the lives of more than 250 military and public safety Veterans with no-cost home repairs focused on safety and accessibility, will kick off its 14th Year of Service this Saturday, assisting four Wallingford Veterans in three homes, including a husband/wife pair of Vets.

The organization anticipates assisting more than 30 Veterans once again this year, with monthly

weekend projects through Veterans Day week. The work will be accomplished thanks to the support of a wide variety of Project Partners, including four new Partners this year – AMVETS Post 18 (Enfield), CirtecMedical (Enfield), New England Financial Group (West Hartford) and Ring’s End Lumber (Branford).

The 2025 Year of Service begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Wallingford homes of U.S. Air Force Veterans

James and Martha Shea, 827 Clintonville Road; U.S. Marine Corps and Vietnam Veteran George Messier of 12 Nob Brook Road; and Joyce Baker of 11 Merwyn Road, the surviving spouse of U.S. Air Force and Korean War Veteran Leonal Baker, who passed in 2016.

Helping make Saturday’s projects possible are teams of student volunteers from the Quinnipiac

University classes of Professors Gail Garfield-Dadio and Mary Beth Schreindorfer, as well as students

from Choate Rosemary Hall under the guidance of Director of Community Service Melissa Koomson.

With the completion of Saturday’s projects, HOHCT will have served 260 Veterans in 71 Connecticut

communities and seven additional states since the organization’s founding in 2012.

What an incredible way to launch the 14th year of service — seeing volunteers from Quinnipiac University and Choate Rosemary Hall show up alongside seasoned partners to transform the homes of Veterans like James, Martha, and George is genuinely moving. It's a powerful reminder that community impact starts with simply showing up. As a student currently working through HR Dissertation Topics around workforce volunteerism and employee engagement, this kind of initiative is a real-world example of how purposeful service shapes organizational culture from the ground up. New Assignment Help UK actually helped me structure my research on similar community-driven programs, and seeing HOHCT reach 260 Veterans across 71 Connecticut communities proves just how transformative consistent, values-led effort can be. Congratulations…

What an incredible milestone — 14 years of showing up for those who showed up for us! The dedication HOHCT brings to Veterans like James, Martha, and George, providing no-cost home repairs that genuinely improve safety and quality of life, is the kind of community-driven service that restores your faith in people. Seeing student volunteers from Quinnipiac University and Choate Rosemary Hall roll up their sleeves reminds me that giving back doesn't require a perfect plan — just a willing heart. As a student who's often juggling deadlines and coursework, I sometimes turn to New Assignment Help UK for college assignment samples to stay on track, but watching organizations like HOHCT pour so much into their mission makes me want…

What an inspiring way to kick off the 14th year of service! The dedication shown by HOHCT in giving back to Veterans like James, Martha, and George is truly heartwarming — it's a powerful reminder that showing up for others, whether through hands-on home repairs or simply lending your expertise, creates ripples that last far beyond a single weekend. As a student, I often rely on an Assignment Helper to organize my workload and stay on track, and seeing volunteers from Quinnipiac University and Choate Rosemary Hall give their time so generously makes me want to channel that same spirit of service into my own community. Huge congratulations to HOHCT and all the partners making this possible — 260 Veterans…

I liked reading about the opening weekend at HOHCT because it felt full of energy and new beginnings for everyone involved. One time when I had to pay to take my exam I felt nervous, but planning my study and asking for help made me calmer and more ready. It made me see that facing hard moments with a plan makes them feel less heavy.

I loved reading about the opening weekend for HOHCT! It sounds like such an exciting event, and it made me think of the times I’ve been overwhelmed with my schoolwork. I remember wishing I could just have someone do my assignment for me, especially when there was so much happening at once. But seeing the energy and dedication behind events like these reminded me of the importance of pushing through and enjoying the process, even when it’s tough.
