Miles for Heroes 5K!

First-Ever Miles for Heroes 5K Takes Place September 20th

Upwards of 100 runners are expected to take part in the first-ever “Miles for Heroes” 5K event to take place Sunday, September 20, at Winding Trails in Farmington for the benefit of House of Heroes Connecticut.

The event is being organized by 33-year-old Ryan Hence, a running and fitness enthusiast, personal trainer and sales associate with West Hartford-based Burgio Sousa Group, a William Raveis Real Estate agency. Hence, who is not a veteran, is appreciative of the service and sacrifice of veterans and hopes to create an annual event benefiting a cause he is passionate about, with the benefit of his large network of contacts.

“I researched House of Heroes earlier this year and it is a great cause,” said Hence. “Unfortunately due to COVID it can’t be as big this year as I originally hoped, but it’s a start. We’re looking to create a great event with a lot of energy supporting a great cause.” The Miles for Heroes event, which starts at 10 a.m., will be capped at 100 runners, said Hence. Registration fee is $25 per runner, with the majority of registration proceeds benefiting House of Heroes.

To register, click here to visit the event’s online registration page.

House of Heroes Connecticut wishes to thank Ryan Hence for organizing this great event and choosing to support House of Heroes.
