Army Veteran receives home repairs thanks to House of Heroes,
STANLEY Tools Build Your America
El Paso, Texas on February 25, 2017, U.S. Army veteran Zeak Williams, who served 20 years as a Combat Nurse in the U.S. Army, spent the better part of the last decade, since his honorable discharge, as a full-time caregiver for elderly family members. A team of volunteers from House of Heroes, local contractors, soldiers from the 127th Aviation Support and 204th Military Intelligence Battalions, Fort Bliss, and Army Aviation veterans from the Rio Grande Chapter of the Army Aviation Association of America, descended upon the Williams home for a full day’s worth of complimentary home repairs and property renovations. It was all part of the STANLEY Tools/House of Heroes “Build Your America” national service program. Williams is the third of five 2015 STANLEY Build Your America contest winners to receive upwards of $10,000 worth of home repairs at no cost. Two projects were completed last year in Illinois and North Carolina, with the Williams project and two final projects in Louisiana and Ohio, will wrap up the effort. “STANLEY is proud to partner with House of Heroes in recognizing, honoring, and serving America's veterans,” said Tim Perra, Vice President, Communications, Stanley Black & Decker. “Through this partnership, STANLEY joins the cause of providing no-cost home repairs to our veterans. It's just a small token of our appreciation for those who deserve it most.”
