Calling all runners for
Team MAD!

We're proud of our partnership with Team MAD to 'Make a DIfference' at the 2013 Hartford Marathon

Picture
Team MAD has selected HOHCT as their cause for this year's run. We're looking for runners to join Team MAD and fundraise for HOH. So whether you're a Marathoner, or a Half Marathoner or even a 5K jogger, join us at www.goteamMAD.org. And if you've got 4 friends that can run between 3 and 6 miles, consider entering the Relay Marathon and contribute to HOH as a team. It's going to be a great summer of team camaraderie and fitness!

PS: HOHCT is getting a group together for the Hartford Electric Run 5K on Saturday night, August 10th. It will be a fun night with amazing light shows along the route. Register for the House of Heroes Team at electricrun.com/hartford

Kerry@houseofheroesct.org will be our running ambassador to Team MAD and team captain of the Hartford Electric Run. Join us!

Fulfilling a promise for Dennis Perrault

The Rotary Club of Southington Honors the Perrault Family

Picture

With the help of the Rotary Club of Southington, over 30 volunteers helped Dennis Perrault fulfill a promise to his family. Dennis had always promised to get to his "honey do" list accomplished when he retired. His death on his retirement day put off many projects that needed attention. House of Heroes supported his wife Marie Perrault, his daughter Tina and his 3 grandsons with a day of honor. We made a difference in a day with painting and deck staining, plumbing, hot water heater, bathroom fixture repair and masonry steps.
See photos in our Gallery photos.

Thanks Smokin' with Chris!

Chris Conlon supported HOH with lunch for 70 volunteers during our Southington project day. This is just a sample of Chris' continuing 'giving back.' Pictured here with HOH's Bill May and Rachael Wache, Southington Community Advocate. Next time you're in the mood for some great BBQ, give Smokin' with Chris a try! Our sponsors.

CT CHAPTER KICK-OFF A SUCCESS!

Picture
It was a big inaugural weekend for HOH-CT. Three veterans were honored with over $30K in home improvements through the generosity of 50 business donors, 40 volunteers, 20 Craftsmen, and 1 US Senator.
Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) joined us for flag presentations at two veterans' homes. HOH-CT projects were the subject of all local CT news and even featured on Fox News Channel nationally. View the entire weekend's events at our photo gallery.

Amazing Seymour Veteran Project Day

Picture
WWII Vet Russell Machnicz was honored with a HOH-CT project at his Seymour home. The Hamden High Dance Team made a surprise appearance to 'kick in' some elbow grease and provide some entertainment.
Ten craftsmen and 20 other volunteers made amazing progress in painting Russ' home, fixing his chimney, and installing a deck among a myriad of other tasks. Check out our progress - and the fun - in our photo gallery.
